As it was Cup Round, it gave the sides a break from League action for a week.

The Reserves were at home to Polonia & they put the last 2 weeks disappointments behind them with a 5-2 win. The East dominated the 1st Half & should have been about 10-0 up but could only muster 1 goal courtesy of Kyle Landman. Polonia levelled though when a mix up between goal keeper & the defence allowed Polonia to score an easy tap in. East took the lead in the 2nd half thanks to Daniel Falzon only to concede again almost exactly the same as they conceded the first but the boys held their nerve to run out comfortable winners with another goal to Daniel Falzon & further goals to Dom Burrows & Matt Behen.

The 1st Team were away to Division 3 side, ISC Raptors & the boys got a nervy 2-0 win. It was a game that looked comfortable on paper even though the 1st Team were missing 5 players & the game in the first half certainly suggested it was going to be that way as it was all one way traffic with chance after chance going begging. Phil Kirreh was causing plenty of problems up front as was the returning Hugo Labaredas with one of the best chances falling to the latter when put throough on goal by Phil only for Hugo to put his shot high past the on-rushing keeper. East took the lead in the 16th minute when Hugo won a free kick out on the left & Phil swung over a delightful ball for David Swift to score with a fine header. East continued to miss chances with the Raptors goal keeper making goal line saves that baffled everyone on the sidelines. The second half was a bit more of a cagey affair as the longer the game stayed at 1-0, the more confident Raptors became at snatching a goal which they almost did on a couple of occasions but the East had Dave Whitaker & bad finishing to thank. In the end it was all to no evail for Raptors as Alex Brigden scored in the 89th minute with a fine glancing header from an Andy Saggs right wing cross to end all hopes of an upset. Well done boys & hopefully this can kick start our season.

The +35's had a disappointing 2-2 draw to local rivals, Para Hills West. The +35's can't seem to grind out a win at the moment, unlucky boys.

The Div 2 Women lost to top of the table Para Hills United, 8-1. Unfortunate girls but keep your heads up, their smashing everyone else too.

The Div 3 Women got their first win of the season as they beat Para Hills United 2-0 with goals from Tamara Wilton & Skye Browne. Well done girls & hopefully there is more wins to come.

Round 4 brought Para Hills East back home to face Fulham. It wasn't a great day either as not one single side recorded a win.

The C's got beaten by a hefty score of 4-0 from the reigning champs & by all accounts, didn't really offer to much going forward.

The Reserves got beaten 2-1 after missing a penalty to go up 2-1. The boys were down 1-0 early into the second half but equalised through a neat Aaron Smith goal. The East had the chance to go into the lead when they were awarded a penalty & up stepped Carmine Catalano, playing his 1st Reserves match, but he hit a poor penalty straight at the keeper. Fulham took the lead with about 10 minutes to go & held on for the 3 points.

The 1st Team were hoping for a first win to get their season on track. The East were missing Ryan Thurstan, Adam Dunt, Matt Noll & Derek Simpson through injury but still put out a talented side but couldn't get the result needed as they went down 2-1 to a spirited Fulham oufit. It was a pretty even 1st Half with not too many chances for either side except a couple of shots from distance. It was the 2nd Half however where all the action was. Fulham took an undeserved lead when a shot from nothing was blocked & then deflected straight to the Fulham forward who made no mistake from 6 yards in the 69th minute. 5 Minutes later & the East were deservedly back on level terms when Andy Saggs scored from a Phil Kirreh corner with a nice headed finish. 3 minutes later though & Fulham were back in front, a simple cross was swung over & Dave Whitaker, who was superb last week against the Downs, came out with one hand & dropped the ball at the Fulham forwards feet for him to make no mistake in front of an open net. The East battled hard for an equaliser in the remaining 13 minutes but Fulham pushed everyone behind the ball to hold on for an unlikely win. So after 4 Rounds the boys have lost all 4 & if things don't start to improve, it could well be Div 2 next year.

The +35's were beaten 5-1 away to Salisbury Inter who are the favourites to take out this years title, unlucky boys & keep your heads up.

The Div 2 Women played out a hard fought 3-3 thriller to Adelaide Villa whilst the Div 3 Women lost to the Flinders Flames with Claudia Rivera scoring the consolation goal for the Div 3 girls.

Para Hills East were away to Championship contenders, Elizabeth Downs.

The C's were looking to bounce back after last weeks disappointing loss to Brahma Lodge but couldn't seem to get the ball past the Downs keeper as the game finished in a 0-0 draw. The boys played alot better than last week & the Downs had their keeper to thank after making some good saves, the East players were also guilty of wastefull finishing. It doesn't get any easier next week as the boys play last seasons Champions, Fulham.

The Reserves were next up & looking to continue there 100% start to the season but were beaten 5-1 in a dire display from the boys. East dominated the game for large parts but couldn't make it count on the score board. The Downs were very clinical with their chances & seemed to score with every chance that came there way. East improved after the break but it was the same as the first with some poor finishing, the goalscorer for the East was Aaron Smith who won a penalty, had it saved only for the ball to fall back to Aaron who made no mistake at the second attempt. Hopefully the boys can bounce back next week.

The 1st Team were out to put the last 2 weeks disappointments behind them by getting a result against a star studded Downs outfit & they almost got it but they just couldn't hold out as the Downs scored with 7 minutes to go to take the 3 points with a 2-1 win. It was a very good game from both sides as the East belied their current form to take it to the Downs on their own turf. The Downs created a couple of early chances but Dave Whitaker was superb in goals as he made a couple of outstanding saves. The East created a couple of half opportunitys themselves with Derek Simpson cutting through the middle only to be thwarted when about to strike. The second half was very much the same as the first with the Downs having chances but the East defence was standing firm & you could sense the Downs getting frustrated. The Downs opened the scoring though in the 74th minute when the Downs player shot low from a tight angle to beat Dave in goals. The East weren't downhearted though as literally a minute later, they equalised, a lovely ball over the top by Matt Noll fell to the unmarked Andy Saggs who made no mistake. The game was up for grabs at this stage & it was end to end stuff but the Downs were the ones who got the winner in the 83rd minute. Jason Trimboli received the ball after a shot across goal, teased David Swift & then Dave Whitaker to cooly finish into the bottom corner. It was a harsh result on the hardworking East where nothing seems to be going our way but the boys can certainly take heart from a fantastic performance & it makes next weeks game against Fulham at home, very important.

The +35's lost their second game in a row away to Elizabeth Vale, 3-1. Unlucky boys.

The Div 2 Women went down 5-2 to a strong Raiders outfit but still managed to score 2 goals which will give the girls some confidence.

The Div 3 Women went down 5-2 to Port Pirates with the 2 goals being scored by Tamara Wilton & Cathy Wood, unlucky girls.

This week saw the boys play promoted Salisbury Inter away from home.

Due to Salisbury Inter not having a C Team, the boys played Brahma Lodge away. By all accounts, the boys didn't play well & were beaten 2-0. The goals were scored in the first 20 minutes of the game & the boys had no answer after that but it was good to see that no other goals were conceded, although Russell Pomery (deputising in goal) made a couple of outstanding saves. Heads up boys & get back to winning ways next week.

The Reserves kept up their 100% start to the season by running out convincing 3-1 winners. All the goals were scored in the 1st half which the East largely dominated. Goals came from Ryan Astley with an unmarked header in the box from an Andy Saggs cross & a brace from Daniel Falzon, his first was a determined knock in after he headed the ball up in the air (yes, a Falzo header) & he subsequently chased his own ball to scramble it over the line from the despairing keeper. Inter scored a nice goal after some sloppy defending allowed the striker some space to shoot on goal, Daniel Falzon restored the 2 goal lead 10 minutes later when he turned on the edge of the box to fire a stunning shot into the back of the net. The 2nd half was largely un-eventful as the East boys cruised for the final 45 minutes but could still have added a couple more if it wasn't for some good saves from the Inter keeper. Well done boys & keep up the good work.

The 1st Team were next up & looking to bounce back after last weeks disappointing loss to Elizabeth Grove, it wasn't to be though as a terrible first half condemed East to a 3-1 loss. It was arguably East's worst performance of the whole year but they will need to pick themselves up for next week as we play one of the favourites for this years title, Elizabeth Downs away.

East gave the ball away cheaply at almost every opportunity & it played into Inter's hands especially after the East had done hard work to gain possession. Inter opened the scoring after 27 minutes & it was the same as last week as players dove in & then allowed the Inter player time & space to un-leash an un-stoppable drive into the back of the net. Kyle Landman was substituted shortly after to try & shore up the midfield with Chris Saggs joining the game. 4 Minutes later though & it was 2-0, a corner was taken by Inter & after it was partially-cleared, it fell back into the box & after a scramble 6 yards out, Inter managed to force the ball over the line. East were reeling by this point & couldn't string 2 passes together which left Phil Kirreh rather isolated up front. In stoppage time of the first half, Inter went 3-0 up after a neat ball over the top allowed the striker to lob the on-rushing Dave Whitaker in goal. The game was essentially over after that but the boys did make a concerted effort in the 2nd half to peg the result back but some resolute defending & goal keeping kept the East at bay until the 90th minute when David Swift was fed in down the right & he hit a shot low into the bottom corner.

It was disappointing from the East but it doesnt't get any easier with Elzabeth Downs next up for the boys.

The +35's were trounced 5-1 by the reigning champions, Tea Tree Gully, with the solitary goal being scored by Paul Medhurst aka Mutley. Unlucky boys!

The Div 2 Women had a solid 2-1 1st Cup Round win over Div 1 side, Gawler. It was a close game with Gawler scoring mid way through the first half which is the way it stayed until halftime. Like last week, East played the better football in the second half as they started to dominate the game. The girls created chance after chance but couldn't find the back of the net. Mid way through the second half, Gawler were down to 10 men (women) when Mel Comyns was brought down from behind when through on goal, the resultant free kick wasn't punished by the East girls. With about 10 minutes to go, the East scored to level the tie. As time ran out, it was into injury time as the girls kept pushing for the winner & the winner came as Demi Morse scored to send the girls & travelling supporters into a frenzy. The girls held out the remaining injury time to run out deserved winners!! Well done girls on a hard fought & deserved victory.

The Div 3 women were away to the Flinders Flames & they absolutely smashed the Flames 12-0 to move into the next round of the cup. Goals were scored by Skye Browne (7), Paola Vilches (1), Katherine Head (1), Sheridan Martin (2) & Tamara Wilton (1). Well done girls on producing such a fine all round goal scoring display with a special mention to Skye Browne who bagged a lazy 7 goals!!

Round 1 for season 2012 saw Para Hills East at home to Elizabeth Grove.

The C boys got the day off to great start with a hard fought 1-0 win with a nice finish early into the 2nd half by player/coach, Paul Astley. It could have been different though had Shannon Baxter not made several top class saves including a penalty save late in the 1st half, the boys had quite a few chances on the day but so did Grove but the boys held on for a hard fought 3 points.

The Reserves continued the winning start by running out convincing 4-1 winners with goals to Russell Pomery (2), Daniel Falzon, a Grove consolation goal & a very well worked goal that Aaron Smith finished with a nice header. It was a fairly even contest but East showed the depth that is at the club by finishing & defending very well, Shannon Baxter backing up his C's exploits again for the Reserves, Goal Keeping spots is one area the East do lack in.

Next it was the 1st Team & after getting themselves into a 2-0 lead with 2 goals in the first 8 minutes of the 2nd half, they capitulated to lose 3-2 in the 91st minute. It was extremely harsh on East after controlling the majority of the game but in football, you need to play for 90 minutes. The 1st half was all East except for one chance the Grove had after 5 minutes with a great cross being met on the volley only to go sailing over the cross bar. Phil Kirreh was causing plenty of problems up front & came close on a number of occassions with one being a left foot shot that whistled past the post with the keeper beaten. 5 minutes into the 2nd half & Alex Brigden put the East ahead, Dave Whitaker kicked a long goal kick forward which fell to Phil who played in Hugo Labaredas down the left of the 18 yard box who in turn shimmied & laid the ball off to Briggo who hit a half volley into the bottom corner. 3 minutes later & it was 2-0 after a great tackle by Dylan Verrion in the middle released Hugo & it was 2 on 1 with Hugo laying the ball off to Phil who finished low under the advancing keeper. In the 75th minute Grove pulled one back when the Grove player advanced at the East defence & with no one coming to make a challenge, fired in low to beat Dave in goal. 5 minutes later & it was 2-2 after a howler from Dave Whitaker. A seemingly nothing low shot from 20 yards out & on an angle, Dave shockingly let the ball slip from his hands & underneath his body & the Grove player was on hand for an easy tap in. The East rallied as Chris Saggs hit the upright after a despairing tackle took enough of the ball to steer it onto the post, Phil was trying his best to work some magic but all to no evail. The decisive moment came in the 91st minute as the same player who scored Grove's 1st did exactly the same as he ran towards goal & unleashed a simply stunning shot past Dave & into the back of the net. East were shattered & rightly so after playing well for large periods & creating plenty of chances, let it slip by not playing for 90 minutes. The boys will bounce back & hopefully learn from this defeat, next we are away to Salisbury Inter who got beaten 6-0 by Elizabeth Downs.

The +35's played Modbury Jets away & came back with the 3 points after a hard fought 2-0 win. A very good win under the circumstances after several players have retired from the game. Well done boys!!

The Div 2 Women were into their 2nd game of the season & came away with a great 7-4 victory away to Elizabeth Vale. In the 1st half, the East defence was not performing at it's best & 3 defensive errors allowed the Vale to skip out to a 3-0 lead. East managed to score 2 late goals just before halftime to bring the score back to 3-2. There were enough signs in the 1st half to show that the East could come away with the win. In the 2nd half, coach Henry Burnett made a few changes which paid instant dividends as the girls scored 5 times to Vale's solitary 1 to run out convincing winners, 7-4. Well done girls on a fine performance after being 3-0 down!

The Div 3 Women had a disappointing 5-0 loss away to Seaford who are one of the favourites for the title, unlucky girls.
